We recommend that you avoid:
Rubbing the eyes
Heat treatments such as steam room or sauna for 24 hours
Sunbathing or swimming for 24 hours
Wearing contact lenses for the rest of the day
Not to apply make-up for at least 24 hours after treatment

A professional massage releases the whole body which can invoke an emotional response:
You may feel sleepy or tired
Take a rest break after the treatment
You might feel weepy or emotional due to the release of tension
Increase your water intake to assist the body’s detoxification process
Avoid or cut down on consumption of stimulants (alcohol/coffee/tea)
Improved circulation could make you feel warmer than usual
Urination could temporarily increase due to the body releasing toxins
Any achy sore muscles will soon be followed by a relief from muscular tension
You most likely feel less stressed and more relaxed
Sleeping patterns could improve

We always recommend that you drink plenty of water to keep your tissues hydrated and to support detoxification. We also suggest taking an Epsom salt bath as it will soothe and calm muscles, enhancing the benefits of the massage. This helps to alleviate any stiffness you may feel the next day.

We ask all clients if they are happy with the pressure, if you say at the start of your massage, we will work the rest of the massage at you chosen pressure. Our specially trained therapists will adapt their pressure to suit you, leaving you feeling relaxed or well worked.

The therapist makes a knot in a thread creating a snare, hairs are caught in the rapid movement made with the threading then forced out efficiently by the root. Depending upon client’s request, hair can be removed individually or a few at the time as threading enables the trained therapist very specific control.

This ancient art of eyebrow shaping, and hair removal technique originates from the Middle East, where it has been practiced for centuries. Threading is an art form that creates clean lines with precision, while refining the appearance of the face. Threading is the perfect solution for a natural technique of hair removal.

Facial threading is the best alternative to waxing and tweezing, particularly for sensitive skin. Unlike waxing, threading does not remove a layer of skin.

By using a piece of thread, hair can be removed swiftly yet meticulously from the most delicate areas of the face. Facial threading is by far the least invasive method of facial hair removal, leaving skin clean and smooth. It is kinder than waxing as no heat or chemicals are applied, and regrowth is finer, softer, and smoother.

At Jane Bulbeck in Chichester, we find that threading is increasingly popular with both men and women, becoming a preferred method for shaping perfect eyebrows.

Today there are many variations of bikini waxing treatments. Click here for more information about Brazilian, Hollywood, G-String, and other body waxing.

For the best facial and body waxing results please ensure you exfoliate and moisturise your skin one week prior to your desire waxing treatment. Please remember to come with at least 7 – 10 days growth, a pre-trimmed bikini line is always appreciated if not waxed for a long time.

Toners are pH balanced and contain active ingredients restoring the skins pH levels after a cleanser has been removed with water. Toners remove any excess cleanser, prepare skin for the application and penetration of a moisturiser. A moisturiser will always last longer, hydrating the skin when used in conjunction with a toner.

At Jane Bulbeck, as specialists in skincare we recommend using a separate sunblock to further protect your skin, particularly if you are undergoing skin resurfacing treatments.
A separate sunblock (SPF30+) should ideally be applied after moisturiser and before foundation providing a good 6 hours of protection against the UVA ageing rays, UVB burning rays & UVC cancerous rays.

We stock a range of high quality proven professional salon sun skincare products here – everything you need!

A combination of a thorough homecare program using active anti-ageing products, with regular visits to a professional beauty therapist for more intensive treatments, will help to soften existing lines and minimise further fine lines from becoming deeper, and more obvious. Together the anti-ageing treatments and skincare products nourish, hydrate, and protect the skin. It is never too late to start using skincare and no one is too old to help prevent further fine lines and wrinkles.

Meanwhile, if you truly really want to know exactly what is best for your skin, we highly recommend a skin consultation and sensitivity test as this will tell us and you precisely what is best for your skin to achieve optimum results.

The difference is that professional skincare ranges are full of very active ingredients that stimulate and enhance the skin. They are prescribed by a trained professional beauty therapist who knows and understands how skin functions and the best way for it to be treated for a successful result.

A basic skincare routine of cleansing, toning, and moisturising can be prescribed for teen skin type by a professional beauty therapist from the age of 13. Otherwise, we can offer a wonderful Pevonia ProCorrective Clear Control skincare collection that specifically targets acne or blemished skin, and this range is suitable from 11 years plus.

Depending on your treatment, you may be asked to remove clothing from the top part of your body. You are invited to lay on a warm comfortable couch with towel and blanket provided. Long hair may need to be tied back. Then enjoy – having a facial treatment is one of the most relaxing beauty treatments you can have.

We apply this for any tint, perming or skin resurfacing solution accordingly. We test a small amount on the inside of your wrist. This ensures that you can see the product and can monitor to see if a reaction occurs. You will need this patch test 48 hours before the treatment.
